A seasoned Police K9 Instructor, K9 Handler, and Founder of Next Level K9 Texas, Steve has built a career on excellence in explosives, narcotics, and patrol work—before pioneering K9 mold detection as a groundbreaking new application of detection dogs.

Steven is also a 2025 gold medal winner among 9,000 competitors from 70 countries at the World Police & Fire Games (aka K9 Olympics) and the host of The Next Level Podcast, where he shares cutting-edge training insights with handlers around the globe. He travels internationally to lead advanced K9 training missions for law enforcement and military units.

Currently serving as the Law Enforcement Secretary for the American Working Dog Association he certifies and trains K9 teams to get them ready for operational success all while operating alongside the DEA and ATF.

Partnering with leading scientists, Steven helps define standardized odor-detection protocols for emerging industries, ensuring accuracy and reliability in critical detection work.
